You can apply video transitions for the video using Windows Movie Maker.To do this first you have to import some video(s) or photo(s). After that follow the instructions.
1.Add videos or photos to the Timeline.The minimum clips are two otherwise you cannot add transitions.(because it added to move from a clip to another .)
2.Select Video Transitions from the tool pallet. As shown in the below figure.

Like that you can repeat it for other clips. If you want to preview the transitions then you have to select and click play buttons in the player. If you want to delete an added transition then select the transition icon on the Timeline and press delete button in the keyboard. And you can continue the other editing.
